Brock Creek Bridge
The bridge over Brock Creek

Depicted here is the Brock Creek bridge which started its life as a stone bridge. Later it was covered with concrete.

The bridge carries the Monon tracks over Brock Creek, which flows into Blue River a short distance down stream.

The bridge was constructed by John G. Campbell of Louisville and the creek and area around it was landscaped by John K. Campbell of Salem.

The bridge still exists and is located adjacent to the O.P.Link Handle Company. In 1982, two coal trains derailed at that location just four months apart. Photographs of the derailment are on The Depot’s “Wreck Wall” on the main exhibit floor.
