The Christmas open house at the John Hay Center and The Depot will be a week earlier this year.
In the past, the open house has been held the first Sunday in December. However, to coincide with Salem's Christmas parade and other activities planned by organizations and downtown merchants, the board of the Washingotn County Historical Society has agreed to move the John Hay Center's Christmas Open House to the Saturday after Thanksgiving -- Saturday, Nov. 27.
Jim Smoak and the LA Honeydrippers will again be entertaining at The Depot. In the past, Banjoist Smoak and his group have drawn capacity crowds to the railroad museum.
The music show will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 27. There is no charge for the performance.
